Assessing Our Physicians; A Cherish Life Standard

March 10 – According to a 2002 study, 91-93% of Down's Syndrome babies are aborted in the United States. I spent some time reading through testimonials on pro-Down's baby websites, and every single parent who mentioned their Ob-Gyn said that they were strenuously pressured to abort, and were sent through the ringer concerning the agonies of raising a Down's Syndrome baby.

These different testimonials came from women around the country. These were different doctors of varying ages, regions, and medical educations who independently reached the same conclusion. Why give birth to a genetically flawed child when you can simply wipe the slate clean and start again?

Babies in the womb no longer have an advocate. They are considered replaceable. But what this also means is that moral upright parents no longer have an advocate. They must be equipped to stand up to the medical community and fight for the life and well being of their child from the earliest days.

We must re-examine the blind trust that we have in our doctors. The ideologies of the medical community lean toward making the strong, stronger, and eliminating the weak and needy altogether. This thinking is infecting all of us.

Even with six healthy children, people in the community first respond by pity; that in some way I have given up my life for these children, and why would I voluntarily do that? I have to bring them to the real conclusion that my children are a wonderful blessing and that our lives are fuller and richer because we have each other.

The duty to instill the value of life within the hearts and minds of our people belongs to each one of us. Put your doctors through a screening process: do they use vaccinations developed from aborted fetal tissue? do they prescribe chemical birth control which inhibits embryos from implanting in the uterus? do they urge the abortion of genetically flawed children? Doctors need to hear from their patients and need to be called back to their first priority which is to cherish life.

Birth Control, Estrogen, and Environmental Health Risks

March 7 – Unfortunately in a world where utilitarianism reigns supreme within the medical community, information that we would consider crucial to our personal health care is casually swept under the rug by those who've decided they know better.

In Georgia we use tax dollars to provide and encourage the use of contraception within our government highschools. The safe sex classes certainly don't tell young women that if they use birth control pills their chance of breast cancer just increased ten-fold (see ). Our tax dollars are promoting a "preventative" medication which kills embryos (as pointed out in former articles) AND causes breast cancer. Our daughters graduate from highschool often already on birth control pills, and continue to use them through out their child bearing years.

How are our communities negatively impacted from widespread chemical birthcontrol? The hormones are taken daily by women and released through the urine which then goes to the sewer, and into the water plants, etc. Buhttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gift no one is monitoring or removing the hormones from the water.

In Seattle, the presence of chemical birth control in the water supply is causing great alarm because these hormones render male trout much less fertile, which is affecting an already struggling fish population. According to a story in June 2003 a coordinator for Trout Unlimited in Portland found the study "disturbing in the extreme" because these hormones have polluted the water tables, creeks, rivers, and lakes all over the country and are having a very negative effect on reproductive rates in fish.(http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/124939_estrogen04.html)

What's even more disturbing is that no one is talking about it! Where are the environmentalists? They should be protesting at pharmacies all over the country, where chemical birth control is dispensed. All of us are drinking the water supply, and are taking in these hormones, whether we want to or not. How does that affect our health, our fertility or our cancer rates, and what about our unborn children?

"David Norris, a physiology professor at the University of Colorado, said it is not just the possible negative effects that estrogen is having on aquatic environments that concerns him as much as the
exposure of these hormones to humans, especially fetuses and newborns. According to Norris, numerous reports show that estrogenic chemicals in water can result in thyroid problems and an adrenaline imbalance. Thyroid inhibitors are of major concern because they affect the nervous system's development and can cause permanent mental retardation" (http://www.kansascity.com/238/story/508076.html).

Even if you personally are not using chemical birth control, the affects of other women using them impacts us all. As studies are showing, these hormones are poisoning our water, our environment,
ourselves, and even our unborn children.

Another reason we can remain silent no longer.

Pro-Life Unity Director to Appear in Television Interview Next Week

Watch Jenny in action during an interview with Ray McBerry on Channel 17, Monday through Friday next week, at 9:30-10am and 5:30-6pm!

The show broadcasts on Charter Cable in south Atlanta. The viewing territory covers all of Henry, Butts, and Lamar Counties, along with portions of Clayton, Spalding, and Newton Counties. Let your friends south of Atlanta know! There are approximately 150,000 viewers stretching from metro Atlanta halfway to Macon who will see this program.

Why HB1? Why Now? Why You?

March 5 – Today, it is acceptable to kill a child within the womb up to the day of delivery, use embryos for research, cryogenically store embryos against their will, euthanize young children with serious genetic disorders, and harvest organs & tissue of aborted babies, to be sold to research firms and pharmaceutical companies all in our America.

Do you really think that we have created a medical community who can be guilty of all of this, yet still respect your personal life and that of your children? Let me be clearer. First, during the committee hearings six doctors concurred that all chemical birth control is designed as an abortifacient. I've never heard of a Doctor admitting this--certainly none of mine ever did, nor have the doctors of my girlfriends. Yet, birth control is routinely prescribed to young women all over the country, and these women continue to ovulate, conceive, and then have a chemical abortion, not ever knowing what they are doing to themselves or to another human life.

Immunizations are also arather frightening thing these days. Of the childhood immunizations, ten are made with aborted fetal tissue cell lines. For most of these, you can ask for an alternative, but that assumes that you even know to ask. The chicken pox vaccine, hepatitis A and polio do not have an alternative. So if you have allowed your pediatrician to give your children those vaccines, they were made using aborted fetal tissue cell lines. And I'm just going to guess here that like my pediatrician, your pediatrician never told you about where these vaccines originate.

And when you consider the in vitro process, it seems like a wonderful new world, but upon closer inspection it is more aligned with Brave New World. A desperate couple comes to an in vitro clinic because they are barren. The doctors meet with them and decide they can help them. Two years later the wife gives birth to one healthy baby (by the way in doing so she is among only 10% of those for whom in vitro is successful). In the process 3 children were simply discarded in the embryonic form because they were too weak to risk (after being utilized for medical experiments), and 4 healthy embryos were placed into cryogenic storage. We all prayed for a positive outcome, and rejoiced at the birth of the healthy baby boy not realizing that 7 babies were reduced to property in the process.

A circle of silence has brought us to this horrible point. You see, all the elitists in judge robes, lab coats, or nice suits know that you may cause a fuss for a little while, but eventually you will believe there is no point, throw up your hands, go home, and pray for Jesus to come back.

But now your life and the lives of your children are on the line, because we are all vulnerable to what our doctors and our pediatricians tell us, and most of them have been trained in institutions that do not respect life.

So the real question is, will you give up and remain silent on HB1? HB1 stands firm and declares that life is precious, that to snuff out life is murder, and that local government has the duty to prosecute murderers. It is the first step toward returning our society to cherishing and protecting the sanctity of life. We must unite and we must stand firm, demanding justice from the people we elected to represent us in government.

Call your legislator today. All of our lives are on the line now.

Keeping Our Eyes on the Ball

I'm not really much of a sports kind of gal. I'm a nerd at heart, and
that goes for my entire family. We go to orchestra practice not
soccer practice. But I do know this much. If you don't keep your eye
on the ball, you aren't going to win.

The pro-life community seems to spend an appalling amount of time not
ending abortion. We set up classes on sidewalk counseling, focus on
parental notification, waiting periods, informed consent, embryos
outside the womb, or ultrasound availability. Then we can't figure
out why it is taking us 35+ years to end abortion.

Glenn Richardson made a telling statement at the Cobb GOP luncheon a
couple weeks ago. He said, "We've given the pro-life community the
Ultrasound bill and the Woman's Right to Know bill. What more do they
want?"

When I was in DC last month, I was complaining that President Bush
has not really done much to END abortion and gives more money to
Planned Parenthood in the budget than any President previous. A well
established leader looked at me incredulously and said, "Jenny, he's
done everything we've asked for." My face turned to disgust and I
said, "Then we aren't asking for enough."

We must end abortion now. Today. Immediately. That is the ball, that
is the whole point of the fundraising, the networking, the
organization building, and the conferences. But it is the one thing
many organizations seem to have trouble discussing or participating
in. When I go into pro-life meetings or conferences I always say, " I
want to end abortion this year. That is my goal." Many people look at
me like I have a third eye.

I urge all of you, keep your eye on the ball. We must end abortion
this year. It is unacceptable that 40,000 children are being
slaughtered in Atlanta this year. Public pressure, community
indignation, elections coming up this summer are all powerful tools
to stop the violence against our people. You can bring the blood shed
to an end. Get your family, neighbors and church involved. Let's
finally have victory that's By the people, Of the people, For the
people, and For the babies!

Help Us Get HB1 to the Full House Floor for a Vote!

February 27– We need every Georgian who stands for the sanctity of life to do three things right away!

1. Call House Judiciary Committee Chair Wendell Willard and ask him to give HB1 ten minutes in committee, enough time for Bobby Franklin (the bill's sponsor) to simply read the bill, and then give it an up or down vote. You can also draft a personal request on behalf of HB1 and fax it to Chairman Willard's office.

Here is Wendell's contact information: Office: 770-481-7100, Home: 770-392-0676, Capitol office: 404-656-5125 and fax 770-481-7111(this is his work office fax number, not Capitol fax).

2. Write or call your own State Representative today and tell him or her that you want HB1 to make it to the floor of the House for a full vote and that you want them to vote in favor of the bill.

3. Pray for God's continued intervention in this process. He has been mightily at work and doing amazing things to see HB1 get from the subcommittee to the full committee. Now we need a ten minute hearing on HB1, even if they vote to Not Pass. This might sound confusing and ridiculous, but don't worry. The intricacies of the committee process and the House Rules can seem like a shadowy, garbled mess. All will be clear in the end.

Thank You for Your Help!

An Uncomfortable Truth

February 27– One thing that struck me in the hearings for HR 536 was the testimony of the doctor panel. They were in unanimous agreement that to declare life begins at conception would outlaw the patch, ring, birth control pills and the IUD because all of these methods are abortifacients. In other words, these birth control measures will kill embryos. Anyone who imagined that Christians aren't killing off their own offspring with abortive measures should think long and hard about birth control pills. Doctors will not admit to patients that they are abortifacients, but in testimony before legislators, there was unanimous agreement.

Personally, the pastor who performed our marriage ceremony recommended that I use birth control pills for at least the first year of marriage. He, of course, had no idea that birth control pills are abortifacients, but this ignorance is rampant in the church and dangerous. We need to look at the people and pharmaceutical companies who have developed chemical means of inhibiting births. In our country, it flowed out of the American Eugenics Society and American Birth Control Society. Margaret Sanger was involved in both, and then moved on to found Planned Parenthood.

There are safe, natural ways to space children, but a medical community that does not value human life at the earliest stage is not going to explore, develop or recommend those methods.

If you are in support of HR 536 and HB 1, and you or your spouse are using IUD, birth control pills or the patch, you must re-examine your world view in theory and in practice. We have absorbed a lie from people who wish to exterminate Jews, Christians and African-Americans, and have embraced abortifacients as an acceptable method of family planning. We have diluted the value of embryos and humans at the earliest stages of development.

I have never heard of an Ob-Gyn who admitted that birth control pills and the patch are an abortifacients. But on a medical panel of 6 doctors who did not converse prior to the hearing, nor did they know each other, they unanimously testified that all these methods would be outlawed under the Human Life Amendment because they kill embryos.

That is today's uncomfortable truth.

Help Us Get HB1 to the House Floor for a Vote!

February 25 – I want to encourage all of you to go and read the couple field reports posted on the www.prolifeunity.com website covering the committee hearings that were held last week.

We have much work to do this week in getting HB1 a hearing in the main Judiciary Committee. All we need is a 10 minute hearing, even if they vote to Not Pass. This might sound confusing and ridiculous, but don't worry. The intricacies of the committee process and the House Rules can seem like a shadowed garbled mess. All will be clear in the end.

HB1 was forwarded out of sub-committee to committee with a recommendation to Not Pass. We need any member of the Judiciary to call for the bill to be heard. You can call Wendell Willard and ask him to give HB1 10 minutes in committee, enough time for Bobby to simply read the bill, and then give it an up or down vote. Here is Wendell's contact information: Office: 770-481-7100, Home: 770-392-0676, Capitol office: 404-656-5125 and fax 770-481-7111(this is his work office fax number, not Capitol fax).

Hearings on HB1 and HR536 Scheduled For Monday and Wednesday!

February 15 – The week of February 17th – 23rd will be a key week in the ongoing battle for life on the legislative level. The committee hearings will take place on Monday and Wednesday at 2pm in room 406 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building. Since space is limited, you should plan on getting there early.

Right now things are arranged so that the hearing for HR 536 will go first, and occupy all the time on Monday. Then on Wednesday the hearing for HB1 will begin. We are working hard to insure that HB1 receives a fair hearing and plenty of support. Next week, Martin Hawley will be in Haiti so updates will be posted by Jenny on the www.prolifeunity.com website every day.

As we move forward, please rest assured that there are many strategies that we will pursue this year in order to end abortion. Should doors close next week, it will simply energize us to re-evaluate and redirect our next efforts. Furthermore, the entire House and Senate are up for re-election this year. So we will be working hard to let every district know exactly where their legislator stood on the life issue.

One thing that you should be informed about is that HR 536 and HB1 go about ending abortion in drastically different ways. HR 536 is a constitutional amendment to establish personhood and thus challenge Roe v. Wade. HB1 sets out the case that murder is a state's issue, that the federal government does not have the jurisdiction to define or prosecute for murder, and thus our state of Georgia will define murder as including the intentional killing of children in the womb. The bill then sets out the method for prosecuting this kind of murder. There is nothing similar about these approaches to deal with abortion. It makes sense to attempt as many approaches as possible every legislative season.

For any organization or entity to be working against HR 536 because it attempts to challenge Roe v. Wade in a way that won't work (how anyone can know what will and won't work, I'm not certain), and then for this entity or organization to state that they are against HB1 for similar reasons, should raise a giant red flag in front of you. The bills are not similar enough to entertain the same logic for why they won't work. Please carefully read both bills so that you are equipped with the truth!

All of your letters and phone calls have really stirred things up at the House this year! HB 1 has been submitted and died every single year for the past four years without the public's knowledge. HR 536 was submitted in the '07 legislative year to attempt what HB1 attempts in a very different way. Look at how all of you getting involved has caused this issue to get so much public attention. Finally, these politicians will not be able to quietly kill this legislation in committee. They are dealing with an educated public and doing so in an election year! We must protect our unborn Georgians, and all of you are an important, vital part of that process.

Thank you for partnering with us in this great task. We will carry on this fight with every resource and every ounce of strength until all humanity in Georgia possesses the inalienable God-given right to life and liberty restored!

For Life. . . For Liberty,
Jenny
